Due to other commitments its been a frustrating time as far as finding time to go to the farm. As from December I will have more time with other projects and commitments begining to lull.

A long term project

This is a year long project (maybe longer) detailing life on an organic farm. Loanleven Farm in based near Almondbank in Perthshire Scotland. It stocks cattle, sheep and pigs and is home to the Wilson Family. The farm has been in the family for decades but has only in the last couple expanded its vision.

I began shooting at the start of July 2007 and hopefully will carry this through until July 2008 covering the changes on the farm throughout the seasons.

Head stockman Brian is in charge of looking after all the animals on the farm. Every morning 7 days a week, 356 days a year barring holidays he has to check the welfare of the animals in the local fields.

Friday 13th July

Gill Wilson of Loanleven held a day on the farm for local young artists. The day was organised in conjuction with Perth Young Arts. The day was split over two sessions with the young artists learning techniques in drawing the pigs on the farm.

Thankfully the rain stayed off, a nice change from the last few weeks. Still at least the pigs appreciated all the lying water.
